LACalytics 2018 – Crowdfunding Campaign

We proudly announce that the final conference of LACalytics 2018 will take place from October 20 to 24 in Hamburg, Germany. Several articles about current issues of interest in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean have been written in the course of the programme. During this conference, the authors will finally meet their co-author with whom they have been working together for more than six months. LACalytics 2018 finished participant selection and starts into its second programme phase

LACalytics – one of IFAIR´s Impact Groups – aims at fostering the relationship between Europe and the Latin America and Caribbean region (LAC) as well as increasing the young generation’s impact on policy making. After a first successful round of programme implementation in 2016, LACalytics 2018 has received large response to its call for applications: more than 260 people from over 40 countries wanted to participate this year. Collected edition “Memory as a Tool of Change: Forgotten Places in Siberia” published

As the final part of this year’s “Memory as a Tool of Change: Forgotten Places in Siberia”-project all German and Russian participants have created a collected edition with essays on their experience with commemorative culture and practices in the Yugra Oblast regarding the totalitarian past of the 20th century. After their two-week trip the participants formed groups and tackled different issues that were of importance to them (Forced labor and resettlement, GULag etc).
